Below are the required Oxford Athletic Club equipment options:
Swim Fin (Dolfin) – allows for a lighter kick, enabling you to achieve a propulsive whip during speed work and drills. Ideal for new swimmers and young squad members, it can be used to help establish stroke cadence during longer endurance sets and add speed and power to technique sessions. Dolfin fins are the perfect beginner fin.
Deluxe Ventilator Mesh Bag (Speedo) – A mesh bag perfect for all swimming equipment. The material allows for an open, breathable and fast drying experience. The front pocket is perfect for other swimming accessories such as caps, goggles, nose clips, and much more.
Team Pull Buoy (Speedo) – Designed to isolate the upper body, the pull buoy adds buoyancy between your legs so you can refine your arm pull and improve your stroke technique. Without your legs to power you, your arm and shoulders take the load, improving upper body strength and endurance as you swim. Use it to improve your body positioning for better speed and efficiency.
Jr. Team Pull Buoy (Speedo) – A smaller version of the team pull buoy, great for smaller and younger swimmers.
Strokemaster paddles – Please make sure to consult the sizing guide prior to purchasing your paddles.
Swimmer’s Snorkel (Finis) – Great tool to establish stroke without necessary side breathing. Perfect for drills or long distances.
Jr. Swimmer’s Snorkel (Finis) – Smaller version of the adult Swimmer’s Snorkel by Finis. Great for younger, smaller swimmers.
Classic Kickboard (TYR) – Perfect for short or long kick sets. Made to isolate the legs, while encouraging strong kicking technique. The size of this classic kickboard is great for any size swimmer or varying experience level, but if you have a younger swimmer, consider the Jr. USA Kickboard below.

Below are a few RECOMMENDED equipment options:
Goggles – Mirrored goggles are typically preferred for swimming outdoors. Most of the goggles I have listed here are mirrored but we also have them in non-mirrored versions on our website. The Speedo Vanquishers are the #1 Competitive Goggle on the market. Good competitive goggles are great at preventing leaks but sometimes they are not as comfortable for that very reason. If your child is sensitive to how things feel then I might recommend the Speedo Hyper Flyer. This goggle is a nice transitional goggle from the recreational type to a more competitive style. The TYR Swimples are the #1 YOUTH goggle on the market. This would be a great choice for the young beginner swimmer!
Caps – You’ll likely get a team cap but an extra one for practice might be nice. Silicone caps are usually preferred over latex (team cap is usually latex) because they do not pull your hair and they are thicker and will last longer. Caps come in Junior and Adult sizes…most kids wear the adult (one size fits all) cap but if your child has a very small head they you might want to consider a Junior version (those can be found on our website). Girls with long hair might also want to consider a “Long Hair Cap”.
Odds & Ends – Bungee Straps – These are used to replace the straps of the goggles you have. They are strong and make quick work of tightening and loosening your goggles.
Silicone Ear Plugs – IF your child needs ear plugs, these are great since they mold into the shape of the ear.
Summer Solutions – This company has several great products for getting the chlorine out. The One Step Shampoo/Conditioner and the Suit Solutions (for getting the chlorine out of your swimwear) are 2 VERY popular items in their line of products.
