Does my facility require a Certified Pool Operator? There must be at least one Certified Pool Operator on staff for every commercial pool in Allegheny County. Outside of Allegheny County your facility is not required to have a CPO on staff (although it is a good idea for safety and water quality).  The Certified Pool Operator is required to visit the pool once each day of operation.

How long is my Pesticide license valid?  Pesticide certification is valid for a period of three (3) years.  During that three year period, six (6) Core and four (4) Category 24 Continuing Education credits must be earned to re-certify for the next three (3) years.

What is the Blended CPO Class?  If you’re short on time or prefer being out of the office for only one-day, the Blended Class may be for you.  You will be given an access code for an online Primer Course which will walk you through the CPO book over approximately 8 hours (the course remembers where you left off).  At the end of the Primer, you will receive a certificate of completion which you must print and bring to the one-day class.  After a review of the materials, the CPO exam will be administered.
